Candle Care

A candle’s flame soothes our soul while its fragrance illuminates our senses.

The following guidelines are to ensure proper use of your candle, favour its longevity and, most importantly, offer a safe burning experience.

Before Burning

✧ Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

✧ Do not move a burning candle and wait until it has completely cooled to do so.

✧ Never leave the burning candle unattended.

✧ For safety measures, stop burning the candle when there is ¼ inch of wax left.

'Frosted' Layer on Candles

Soy & Beeswax develop a frosty layer called Blooming. This is the nature of pure and natural wax and in no way affects the burn ability or fragrance of the candle.

When making your candles, I use my knowledge of candlemaking to help reduce the chances of frosting the best I can. Once your candle is on its way and settled in your home, many factors can come into play, such as temperature changes and the way they are stored, which can induce frosting.

Burning Guide

  • UNIQUELY SHAPED PILLAR CANDLES

✧ Place on a tray to catch wax drips.

✧ As these are irregular shaped candles, they can be leaky when burning & may need wick trimming 30 minutes in.

✧ Burn maximum 2 hours at a time.

✧ Prior to each use, trim wick to 1/4in.

  • CONTAINER CANDLES

✧ Allow for the wax to liquefy evenly across the diameter of the candle for each use (One hour per inch).

✧ Wax has a memory and will burn as far as the initial burn.

✧ Prior to each use, trim wick to 1/4in.

  • CLASSIC PILLAR CANDLES

✧ Place on a tray to catch wax drips.

✧ Allow for the wax to liquefy without touching the edge.

✧ Wax has a memory and will burn as far as the initial burn.

✧ Prior to each use, trim wick to 1/4in.

  • WAX MELTS

✧ Snap a piece off your melt.
✧ 2 to 3 hours at a time is enough to produce a wonderful fragrance.
    ✧ Ceramic burners are recommended.
✧ Burn maximum 3 hours at a time.
✧ Use until the scent has faded.

  • CANDLESTICKS

✧ For little dripping, never trim the wick.

✧ To achieve a lot of dripping*, trim the wick to 1/4 inch.

*This will cause your candle to burn faster.
